Client Impact
MicroEnsure seeks to serve the economically active poor who live
on $4 per day or less in developing countries. We believe that
through insurance, our clients will receive the following
benefits:
| ECONOMIC: |
A safety net to reduce economic set backs
|
| PHYSICAL: |
Access to healthcare as and when it is needed
|
| SOCIAL: |
Increased ability to keep children in education, increased
opportunity for women to make positive choices, improved health,
greater confidence in the future |
| SPIRITUAL: |
By standing against corruption, we will be transparent in all
our business, and we aim to provide first class service for our
clients based on strong ethical foundations |
We believe that client education is an important and necessary
task to ensure that the poor are able to understand risk
management, insurance products, and make informed choices when
buying financial products. We have developed an insurance module
specifically designed to train our distribution partners and
provide informative education materials that can be easily
understood by clients.
Once these training and education programmes have been
successfully established, the longer term aim is to measure the
impact of financial education in the market. Plans are being
developed to establish a financial literacy index that will become
a baseline for future client impact measurement.
The client stories that follow provide anecdotal evidence of the
benefits clients have received from taking out various
microinsurance products that we have designed in Africa and
Asia.
